Delete your Vaulto account
Vaulto — the Family Asset Vault — lets you delete your account, or any single vault, directly in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent. This page explains the exact steps, what gets deleted, and what we keep.

How to delete your account
You can delete everything yourself from inside the app — no email or waiting required.
- Delete your entire account, in the app — Open Settings → Account → Delete account. The screen lists exactly what will be erased. Confirm by typing DELETE and your password. Your account and all of its data are deleted immediately, you're signed out, and the app's local cache is cleared. Available on iOS and Android.
- Delete a single vault, in the app — Want to remove one vault but keep your account? Open Settings → Danger Zone, choose the vault, and confirm by typing its name. That vault and everything inside it — assets, liabilities, valuations, documents, and supporting files — is permanently deleted.
- Need help? — If you can't access the app, or have a question about deletion, email privacy@myvaulto.com from the email address on your account and we'll help. We action verified email deletion requests within 30 days — in practice much sooner.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account record — name, email address, and sign-in credentials.
- Every vault and all its contents — assets, liabilities, valuations, and the net-worth picture built from them.
- Your uploaded documents and evidence files, together with the encryption key that protects them — so the stored files become permanently unreadable.
- AI overviews and drafts; advisory history, streaks, and preferences; and your devices' sign-in and notification tokens.
Deletion is immediate, permanent, and cannot be undone — there is no grace period or recovery window. Export anything you want to keep first; you can download your vault data at any time before you delete.
What we keep, and for how long
When you delete your account yourself, there is no retention period — your data is erased the moment you confirm. Encrypted database backups are kept on a short rolling cycle, and deleted records age out within about 7 days; because the encryption key is destroyed at deletion, those backed-up copies are already unreadable. Where the law requires us to keep a minimal record (for example, to meet tax or anti-fraud obligations), we keep only that record, only for as long as the law requires, and delete it afterwards.
We never sell your data, and deletion does not change that.
